Zara Tindall suffers an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction while shopping on the Gold Coast

Must read

Zara Tindall has been enjoying her time in Australia for the Magic Millions Carnival.

The daughter of Princess Anne has been busy putting on glamorous trackside displays with husband Mike Tindall during the prestigious two-week horse racing event.

But the 43-year-old royal proved she’s just like the rest of us after suffering a very common wardrobe mishap.

Appearing in a promotional video for Gold Coast shopping precinct Pacific Fair, Zara cut breezy figure in a blue and white floral-inspired dress for her shopping day out.

The clip showed the niece of King Charles taking in some retail therapy in the expansive mall as well as enjoying a glass of bubbles in the site’s Pommery Bar.

‘It’s great to be back in Australia, and I’m here at Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast which is my favourite place to shop,’ Zara introduced the video.

It then cut to a shot of Zara arriving at the mall, sitting in the passenger seat of a black SUV.

It appeared that Zara was too eager to begin her shopping expedition, with the hem of her dress sticking out of the car’s passenger door.

A common faux pas, no doubt, but one that came a quite a surprise from someone as sartorially elegant as Zara.

Zara and Mike are frequent visitors to Australian shores and were in the country last year.

The pair spent Christmas back in the UK before recently returning Down Under for the Magic Millions.

Zara and Mike aren’t working royals and don’t take money from the Sovereign Grant and fund their lifestyle through various brand deals.

In 2012, Zara was announced as the first Magic Millions Racing Women Ambassador.

Magic Millions has been a regular fixture in Zara’s calendar since that year, when she became its patron following her Olympic silver medal win in London.

She now travels to Surfers Paradise in Queensland every year for the Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

Seven days of auctions which culminate in a major race meeting where all contenders are horses bought at previous Magic Millions auctions.

During their trip to Australia last year, Zara and Mike were seen at luxury boutiques and taking in wine tours.

The married couple speak fondly of the country as it is where their love story began.

They met at Sydney bar in 2003 while Mike was ‘drowning his sorrows’ after being cut from the England World Cup squad and Zara was on a gap year.

The pair have been married since 2011 and have three children – Mia Grace Tindall, 10, Lucas Tindall, three, and Lena Elizabeth Tindall, six.

Speaking to Hello Magazine, Zara was quick to gush about her ‘home away from home’ Australia.

‘We have always loved Australia and it is like a home from home for us,’ Zara said.

‘We have been coming to Queensland for so long now it has become a tradition for the start of the year…we couldn’t ask for a better way to start the year.’

Zara added: ‘[We love] coming out of the cold winter and into the warm heat, and the incredible water temperatures.

‘The Gold Coast is just a great place to be – it’s got a bit of everything, from beaches to horses and everything else in between.’
