YouTube Rolls Out New Stable Volume Control Feature For Android & Google TV

Must read

YouTube often releases new features for its users to enhance their user experience. The video streaming giant has now released a new ‘Stable Volume’ feature for its apps on Android TV and Google TV devices which will help us get free from the need to look for our TV remotes when the volume of the movie or video gets loud automatically. Do you remember any incident when you were watching a movie and a dialogue exchange was going on between characters due to which the volume was at the apt level and then suddenly the loudness would shoot up because an action scene started?

Yeah, we were not controlling the volume but the video had issues with fluctuating volume levels. As per a report by 9To5Google, this new feature by YouTube will work automatically without any manual interference to adjust the volume of the videos. In simpler words, as I was saying before, this means that users now won’t have to look for their remotes to raise the volume during a normal conversation scene or lower it during an action sequence on their Android TV.

Google said that this new feature will be turned on by default on TV. If we talk about the range, then the range for this feature hovers between quiet and loud, continuously adjusting volume levels to reduce variations in sound. If anyone still prefers managing volume manually then they can do so by simply turning off this feature via the settings tab. This feature was first spotted on Android TV and Google TV devices running on the latest YouTube version 4.40.303.

YouTube New Feature: How To Use Stable Volume Feature

Users can access this feature by tapping the gear icon during video playback which will prompt the Stable Volume toggle on the screen. The stable volume is a helpful feature for casual listening on YouTube, especially for podcasts or videos where consistent sound is not always guaranteed.

However, this feature might not be useful in all situations, like when listening to Music Due to the lack of a dedicated YouTube Music app for Android TV, the toggle is still present when playing music on YouTube.
