YouTube Introduces Google Lens Search Feature on its Android App

Must read

YouTubers now have a new way to search for items as YouTube has introduced a new Google Lens feature to the search bar in the YouTube Android app.

We believe that Google is simply trying to expand the visual search feature to more of its platforms in a bid to offer users more ways to find things without using text and voice options.

You can take advantage of the Google Lens Search feature if you are lucky enough to be among the early users who have received the rolled-out version once you open the fullscreen search page on your YouTube mobile app, revealing the Google Lens icon in the top right corner.

According to Google, the Google Lens feature will be used to identify objects and optical characters. So for example, if you take a picture of a computer keyboard, it will provide an option to search for “Keyboard” on the YouTube app.

The feature also has an option that allows you to search for “Keyboard” on Google as well. You should also know that the Google Lens search feature works the same way as the original Google Lens and uses the same algorithm to give you similar results.

Presently, Google has stated that the feature is not yet officially available to over 2.49 billion monthly active users globally per data from SEO.ai. However, when it becomes available to everyone globally, the feature will appear on all devices signed into the same account.

On a separate note, YouTube unveiled a feature called “Ask” to help viewers get the most out of the videos they watch by facilitating real-time question-and-answer interactions directly within videos. We believe that these features in combination with those still in the beta phase, will change the face of YouTube in terms of user experience in the media space.
