The moon spends all of today in steady Taurus, and in the early afternoon, Taurus links up with Saturn to activate your sense of responsibility and good judgment. This probably won’t be the most exciting day, but without a lot of drama to distract you, it becomes easier to make solid decisions that’ll serve you in the long term. If you’re used to chaos, remember that steadiness doesn’t have to be boring — and today, it might be exactly what you need.

If there’s one thing you can’t stand, it’s boredom. You’re all too aware that your time on earth is limited, and you don’t want to waste a second of it. Today, though, your challenge is to be patient. Even the things most worth doing sometimes involve busywork or uninteresting conversations or long periods of waiting. Focus on doing what needs to be done, dull as it may seem right now. Trust that the boring moments aren’t taking you away from your “real” journey but are necessary steps along the way.

You might be restless today. It’s clear that you need a change, but what? While you’re good at coming up with ideas for transforming your life, you’re equally good at talking yourself out of them. They all seem so risky, so arduous. But the truth is that you’re not going to be able to talk yourself out of your needs, so you may as well try something. It won’t take the world’s most perfect idea; just pick one and commit.

If a project or relationship isn’t going the way you want, it might be tempting to wash your hands of the whole thing. Starting over with a clean slate seems so much simpler than dealing with the mess. But while there are times when quitting is the best — or only — option, this probably isn’t one of them. Keep trying, at least for a little while longer. Perseverance might not feel exciting in the moment, but it could lead to the breakthrough you need.

Normally you’re excellent at connecting with others. You know how to pick up on emotional subtext, which means that even when someone won’t — or can’t — tell you how they’re feeling, you still understand. Sometimes, though, the people you care about challenge you. They’re mysterious and hard to read or they don’t respond to you in the ways you expect. Don’t give up on them. Today, it might be possible to connect in spite of your differences.

It’s maddening when others’ perception of you doesn’t match your self-image. It isn’t enough for people just to like you — you want them to like you for the right reasons, to value the qualities in you that you love most about yourself. But today, the more you worry about how you come across, the more stressed you’ll be. You can’t control what goes on in anyone else’s head, so stop trying. Focus on living in a way that you can be proud of.

You enjoy your routines, but you’re not inflexible — you understand that the world is unpredictable and all you can do is adapt. And as you grow as a person, the structure of your daily life will inevitably change, too. So think carefully about what kinds of changes you’d like to enact. You’re not likely to act rashly right now, but you have the wisdom and perspective to know what will genuinely make you happy. Change doesn’t need to be hectic; today, do your best to move slowly and steadily.

Personal growth is wonderful, of course, but it’s not as straightforwardly fun or rewarding as some people suggest. When you’re genuinely stretching yourself, you’ll inevitably run into difficulties. When you’re taking necessary risks, you’ll occasionally fail. Lately, you’ve been growing a lot, which means that your confidence has probably taken a hit or two. So today, focus on building yourself back up. It won’t happen instantaneously, but with a little time and care, you’ll be stronger and more self-assured than ever.

With your keen intuition and insight into other people’s emotions, you’re great at giving advice. Receiving it, however, is another story. Once you’ve made up your mind, you’re not likely to listen to anyone’s dissenting opinions; even when you’re uncertain, you get irritated when anyone else presumes to know your situation better than you do. Today, though, the best thing you can do is ask for feedback and advice from others. You don’t have to act on it if you don’t want to, but listen with an open mind.

Nobody is more focused or a harder worker than you are — as long as you genuinely care about what you’re doing. It’s easy, though, for you to get a little lax when it comes to the stuff that strikes you as unimportant in the grand scheme of things. Details can easily slip your mind when you’re focused on the bigger picture. Today, make an effort to tend to the unexciting tasks you’ve been neglecting. You don’t need to be inspired by them; you simply need to do them. And you’ll be so relieved once you have.

The older you get and the more your responsibilities pile up, the harder it gets to carve out time for the activities that bring you joy. There’s so much serious work to be done that it can feel selfish and unwise to devote any energy to play. But these things matter, too. Tending your creative spark takes genuine effort and commitment, and it’s one of the best things you can do today — not just for yourself but for the world around you.

Your idealistic nature can make it difficult to live in a world that falls so far short. You’re constantly forced to settle for “good enough” — what else can you do? — but it wears on you. So today, try to identify one thing you have the power to change — your living space, a creative project, your relationship with yourself — and work on making it exactly what you need. You won’t reach perfection overnight, if you ever do, but the effort will be worthwhile, and the results will be yours.

Your more pragmatic friends might not understand it, but some of the best decisions you’ve ever made are the ones you made on instinct. There are times when listening to your rational mind would have led to a safe outcome, but trusting your gut led to something magical. Today, though, don’t underestimate the value of common sense. The splashy choices aren’t always the best ones, and sometimes the ones that at first seem dull and uninspired are the ones that will make you truly happy.
