Today the moon moves through Aries. If you’ve lost touch with your fighting spirit or feel weak and discouraged, that changes now as this moon gives you the courage and energy to keep going. You don’t need to see where the path leads; at this point, you don’t need a plan at all. Trust that as long as you keep moving and don’t give up, you’ll figure it out as you go.

You might feel like one big exposed nerve today. Your emotions are potent and deep; you’re wide open to the joy and love that life has to offer, but this leaves you open, too, to disappointment and pain. Part of you wonders whether the good feelings are worth it — wouldn’t it be better to put up walls and numb yourself to all these intense feelings, good and bad? But the joy that’s coming your way is worth the difficulties, so don’t block it out.

Lately, you’ve felt badly in need of external validation. Your faith in yourself hasn’t been enough; you want the people in your life to recognize how wonderful you are, to remind you of your strength, to give you encouragement to keep fighting for what you want. Today, though, stop waiting around for others to step in and give you what you need. You deserve your community’s care, of course, but if it’s slow in arriving, or if it’s just not enough, you have inner resources to tap into.

You’re good at blending into the crowd — wherever you go, you can give the impression that you belong, and even in brand new situations, you’re quick to figure out the right things to do and say. Today, though, you might find that you don’t actually want to fit in anymore. You’re tired of working so hard to seem normal. Now it’s time to let your individuality shine. It can be scary to strike out on your own, but you’re brave enough to find your way.

Sometimes you convince yourself that you’re not “allowed” to have truly big ambitions, that it’s embarrassing to want too much. There are so many barriers in your way, and so many other people have settled for less than they really want — you imagine that you’re being smart by tempering your goals from the start. Today, though, it’s more important than ever not to give up before you’ve fully tried. If you want a big, wonderful life, there’s no use pretending you’ll be happy with less: Go out there and fight for it.

You’ve been dreaming big lately, imagining all that you’d like to achieve. But today, it’s just as important to think about what you don’t want to do. Plenty of people will try to box you in, waste your time with pointless tasks, convince you that you’re too busy with all of your responsibilities to ever do anything truly big. Resist the pressure to fill your days with things you’re “supposed” to do — but that don’t actually help anyone or make you happy.

Sometimes, the right thing to do is also the most practical one, or the thing you wanted to do anyway. Other times, though — like today — the right thing might be impractical or inefficient or wildly inconvenient. But don’t talk yourself out of it just because it isn’t easy. The more you stay firm in your own convictions, even when it’s hard, the more meaningful your day — and, by extension, your life — will become.

If you’re feeling lost today, confused about what you want or how you feel, the best way to find clarity is to talk it through with someone you trust. Be honest, and stay open to their feedback — even if it’s not what you hoped to hear. Then return the favor by listening to others’ problems, and offering up your own honest thoughts. This kind of mutual care has to go in both directions: Both of you have valuable insights to share.

You’re a deep, strategic thinker by nature; instead of throwing yourself headlong into new groups or experiences, you like to observe from the margins first. But don’t wait around too long. If you’re not careful, you could wait around on the sidelines forever, thinking and analyzing and never actually doing anything. Today, take the first step. Don’t overthink it, or stress yourself out over the many branching possibilities from here. All you can do is take stock of where you are right now and do the best you can with the information you have.

When you’re longing for human connection, it’s sometimes easy to wait around for someone else to make the first move. If your friends wanted to see you, you imagine, they’d reach out; if a new person wanted to know you better, they’d make that clear. But that isn’t always the case. Sometimes, people are busy putting out fires in their own lives; sometimes they’re doing exactly what you are, waiting for somebody else to get in touch first. Today, stop waiting: Be the person who makes things happen.

It might be easy to take a defeatist attitude toward your own future, to tell yourself that your desires are so great, or the barriers so insurmountable, that you’d be happier just giving up. But even if you’re willing to stop fighting for yourself, today, you’ll find that you still have the energy and drive to defend those you love. Self-interest might only take you so far right now, but your generosity and love for your friends and community can motivate you to keep going.

It might feel, lately, like the most important thing for you to do is to stay safe — to steer clear of touchy subjects, be wary of new people, avoid unpredictable situations at all costs. But while you’re not wrong to approach the world with caution, it’s important not to isolate yourself. You deserve safety, but you deserve an interesting life, too — and the more you avoid even the potential for trouble, the more you’ll end up denying yourself rich experiences. Don’t let fear stop you.

You try not to get discouraged, but lately it feels so difficult. The challenges never seem to let up, and you’re tired. It might seem like the best thing to do is retreat into solitude, taking yourself away from the world. Today, though, you might be better off throwing yourself more fully into the action. Remember your backbone, your strength, all the times you exceeded your own expectations. Much as you wish someone else would step in to make life easier, it’s your job to fight for yourself. With every small victory, you’ll get braver.
