For the third consecutive year, Yale Pediatric Urology has ranked nationally in U.S. News & World Report’s annual children’s hospital and specialty listing.
The division ranked along with four other pediatric subspecialties at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital [YNHCH], moving six places higher than last year to be #18 in the country.
Nearly 200 hospitals and thousands of pediatric physicians are surveyed for the annual listing, which places specific emphasis on three areas of quality: “clinical outcomes,” “efficient coordination of care,” and “providing care-related resources” [such as adequate nursing numbers and personalized outpatient programs.]
“We are excited to continue our upward climb in this ranking, amidst so many other prestigious programs nationally,” said Adam Hittelman, MD, PhD, division chief of Yale Pediatric Urology. “I am proud of the collaborative work among the physicians, APP’s, nurses, and staff. And our partnerships with the multidisciplinary programs at YNHCH help us prioritize the patient and provide collaborative, comprehensive, and holistic care.”
“I congratulate Dr. Hittelman and his team,” said Department of Urology Chair Isaac Kim, MD, PhD, MBA. “This achievement reflects the dedication and commitment that Yale Pediatric Urology has for some of our most vulnerable patients and their families.”
The ranking adds to Yale Medicine Urology’s solid showing earlier this year when our adult division was recognized in U.S. News & World Report’s general hospital listing. The adult urology specialty ranked #31 nationally for 2024-25.
