BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Millions in water system upgrades are coming down the pipe in Woodstock on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, we told you about Woodstock’s acquisition of a private water company.
Woodstock residents will go to the polls on Tuesday to decide whether to shell out millions to upgrade their newly purchased water system.
The town has no shortage of water but its aging infrastructure isn’t meeting the mark – with the town’s 96 hydrants falling short of state pressure standards.
Residents must decide whether to purchase $1.6 million in property where the majority of infrastructure and two reservoirs sit.
Another $6.7 million for a new pipe, well, and other upgrades is also on the chopping block.
Voting kicks off at 7 a.m. at Woodstock Town Hall.
