MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – While you’re watching the Super Bowl on Sunday, keep your eyes peeled for a commercial featuring a Wisconsin business.
Wisconsin Cheese Mart will be featured in a commercial aired throughout Wisconsin and the country for “Google Gemini,” the search engine’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool.
“I’m not going to turn this down. There’s no way I’m turning down this opportunity,” Wisconsin Cheese Mart President Ken McNulty said.
The commercial is part of a “50 States, 50 Stories” campaign which shows how Google’s Gemini tool inspires creative ways for businesses to use AI.
“The difficulty with such a small team, we don’t have a marketing department, we don’t have all of these departments so we use Google AI to fill that niche or that need that we have,” McNulty said.
McNulty says Wisconsin Cheese Mart uses AI to enhance their website and advertising.
“As I said in the commercial, I’m the worst writer out there,” McNulty laughed. “We use AI to improve our website descriptions for me to help with my emails, because they’re usually pretty bad, so I use Google Gemini to check my emails before I send them out.”
McNulty says, even though they’re a small business with only 20 employees, everyone is really excited for the opportunity to be on people’s TV screens on Sunday.
“This is great for Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, Wisconsin cheese and the Wisconsin Cheese Mart,” he said. “We all win in this one.”
McNulty says Wisconsin Cheese Mart features 30+ Wisconsin creameries and he hopes this commercial also helps those creameries grow their business too.
“It should be a huge deal, like Christmas in February for us so we’re really looking forward to this,” he said.
Each state has its own commercial with Google Gemini that will air in-state. McNulty says a snippet of the Wisconsin commercial will also air in a nation-wide segment.
Wisconsin Cheese Mart started in 1938 in Milwaukee. There is a store on State Street in Downtown Madison and in Milwaukee. Customers can also shop online.
