For a small island, Manhattan often feels like a very big place with so much to see and do. You can never have too many recommendations, especially during New York Fashion Week when the city is even more congested and chaotic than usual. Having a few spots in your back pocket that you can always rely on is a good idea.
Since the coolest recommendations come from the coolest people, we asked Nordstrom associate fashion director and New York City–based street-style star Linda Cui Zhang what she likes to see and do in between shows and Fashion Week events (and don’t worry, even though NYFW has passed, these places are always worth a visit).

What is your go-to dinner restaurant?
Potluck Club. It’s my favorite Cantonese American restaurant. You’ll always find an order of the salt-and-pepper chicken with scallion biscuits and snow-pea shoots at my table. It has a fun atmosphere and inventive drinks, plus its staff plays greatest-hits hop-hop.
What is your go-to lunch in a pinch?
Nordstrom Bistro Verde, which is nestled on the fifth floor of the Nordstrom NYC Flagship store, is my quick spot for a hearty salad. Try the Cobb. I usually call in my order so it’s ready for pick-up.
What is your go-to pop-in for a beauty product?
I like to pop in to the Senti Senti Mott Street location for a new lippie during Fashion Week. The staff is so friendly and always willing to fill me in on the latest TikTok and Rednote beauty trends. My latest pick-up is the Fwee Lip & Cheek Blurry Pudding Pot. I like the two-in-one to refresh my color during the day.
Who is your go-to cobbler for a quick shoe fix?
Dino’s Shoe Repair at 1806 Broadway because it’s right up the street from my office and many services can be done same-day.

Who is your go-to Fashion Week tailor?
I need recommendations. I’m not gatekeeping — I just don’t have a go-to tailor yet.
What is your go-to place to pick up a gift for a fashion friend’s dinner party?
November 19 because it has joyful homeware, curious decorations, and practical designs. I wander in here every time I’m on Orchard Street, and it’s an instant mood boost. It’s a great destination for a hostess gift.
What is your go-to place to take a break from fashion?
My neighborhood bookshop in Brooklyn, Books Are Magic, is the perfect, quiet getaway. I like to get lost in a good book here or just read the greeting cards because they always cheer me up.
