Publix Super Market at Citation Point in Lexington is weeks from opening, but it won’t be the only thing coming to the north side of town.

The Citation Point shopping center at the corner of Citation Boulevard and Georgetown Road will also be home to new restaurants, as well as offices and other businesses — most not yet built.

Besides the main Publix grocery store with deli, bakery, pharmacy and more, there is a separate Publix Liquor store. And in the building alongside the stores on Stockton Way will be other commercial tenants, include Great Clips and others not yet identified.

“We’re excited to get everybody open soon, Publix, the out-parcel tenants and the inline stores,” said Jeff Fuqua of Atlanta-based Fuqua Development, which is developing the shopping center, in an interview.

When the shopping center was announced in March 2023, Fuqua said the goal “is to create a space that not only meets the needs of the local community but also provides a unique and enjoyable shopping experience.”

“We are proud to be joining the Lexington community and look forward to bringing this exciting new project to life,” Fuqua said in a news release. “We believe that this shopping center will be a vibrant hub for the community and a catalyst for economic growth in the area.” Citation Point is poised to become a premier shopping destination in Lexington and the surrounding areas. With its variety of stores and dining options, shoppers can expect an unparalleled experience.”

The development is in a growing area on Lexington’s northwest side along Citation Boulevard, between Newtown Pike and Georgetown Road.
