Google Docs can be a powerful tool if you know how to use it to its fullest potential.
Problem Solved, USA TODAY
It’s 2024: Our lives revolve around the internet.
And whether you’re brave enough to admit it, your search history is probably pretty weird at times. If you’re like me, you likely Google new ways to eat Cincinnati-style chili every day.
We decided to jump on Google’s handy Trends tool to look for the weirdest trending questions Cincinnatians search for these days. For extra clarity: These are trending searches, so a significant number of people Googled these inquiries. It wasn’t just one person with too much time on their hands.
Here are the weirdest questions/topics that trended in Cincinnati throughout the past month.
Why were chainsaws invented?
Is there some sort of expo going on around town? Why are we so worried about the origins of chainsaws?
Anyway, they were apparently first used as medical instruments to help with childbirth, per BBC’s Science Focus Magazine. Read more here.
What does Army stand for?
Uh, Army isn’t an acronym, so anyone searching this likely never found their answer.
Why is Caillou bald?
I didn’t know people still watched this show.
When Caillou was first conceptualized as a character, he was a young baby who would not have a lot of hair simply because of his age, according to Chouette Publishing.
When the creators of “Caillou” wanted to make him older to experience situations 2-year-olds and 4-year-olds would face, they decided to keep him bald. Otherwise, he would have been unrecognizable.
When is Grimace’s birthday?
Perhaps people miss McDonald’s Grimace milkshake from last year. Or maybe we all really care about the purple fella. His birthday is June 12, but the fast food chain doesn’t appear to be celebrating this year. Apparently they only cared when he turned 52.
What is a Grandma McFlurry?
More proof McDonald’s lives in our heads rent-free. I too wondered what a Grandma McFlurry is, and I even tried it.
What does ‘womp womp’ mean?
Wait. “Womp womp” doesn’t play in everyone’s head when something bad happens? I thought the imitation of a sad trombone was the anthem for our sports teams.
Where is Kansas City?
Stop! Don’t go harass the Chiefs. We saw what happened when we gave them extra motivation during the AFC championship game a couple years ago.
Who voices Shrek?
I think about my friend Shrek on random spring days, too. No judgment here. Spoiler: It’s actor Mike Myers.
Zim Whodey
The Reds are starting to wake up, but the Bengals are always top of mind. We were pleased to see this super fan pop up in trends toward the end of May. Can I get a Who Dey???
Why did I get married?
Let’s get a vibe check here: Is everyone OK? Maybe you all just really want to watch that Tyler Perry movie of the same name.
