Louisiana is known around the country for being a hub for food, culture and innovation. And it’s strong locally-made foods and products show off that spirit.
While some companies have been sold or bought out by larger conglomerates, including Blue Plate and Zapp’s, many staple Louisiana companies are still family-owned and produce their signature items within the state.
The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry runs a “Certified Louisiana” program, which keeps a member list and allows special logos to be placed on products that qualify.
Qualifying products must be made, grown, produced, manufactured, processed or packed in Louisiana. Find members of the program here.
