So … have you heard about 2025 yet? We astrologers have been anticipating the next 12 months for quite a long time, because with so many massive astrological events occurring in such a short duration, the year ahead is guaranteed to be wild. Really wild. Life-changing, history-making, tectonic-plate-trembling wild. I’m talking massive unprecedented happenings (Neptune hasn’t been in Aries since the mid-1800s!), irritating retrogrades (the New Year has got all of them), and lots of new chapters emerging from thin air. Whether you’re interpreting these shifts cyclically or optimistically, one thing is for certain: It’s time to giddyup!
Which is why we’ve put together this comprehensive guide to all things 2025. Now, let’s unfold the drama, the pivots, and — dare I say? — the magic together. Hold my hand!
For the first time since the mid-1800s, Neptune — the distant, slow-moving planet that symbolizes dreams, illusions, delusions, and spiritual depth — will enter Aries, the fiery first sign of the zodiac. Neptune has resided in Pisces’ domain since 2011 (!), which has influenced the past 14 years — in particular, our relationship with social media, fame, and escapism. But on March 30, 2025, Neptune will begin its journey into Aries, dramatically changing the tonality of our collective awareness. Neptune in Aries will generate visionary leadership and push us to dream big in areas of personal ambition and global advocacy. However, Neptune’s influence will continue to blur lines and create confusion, so beware of chasing mirages. At least we’ll have plenty of time to figure out fact from fiction: Neptune will remain in Aries through 2039.
Since March 2023, Saturn’s transit through Pisces has urged us to confront our dreams and illusions, revealing where our boundaries have dissolved and where structure was needed. Saturn’s journey through this mysterious, ethereal zodiac sign challenged us to embrace spiritual discipline and transform confusion into clarity.
Saturn in Aries, however, will be all about initiating structures and redefining boundaries. When Saturn enters Aries on May 24, 2025, consider it a transit of action: Are you ready to take responsibility for your goals and embrace your potential? Saturn demands that we put our ambitions into motion and teaches us the value of resilience through direct experience. While the lessons may feel intense, this is a prime opportunity to establish foundations for the next phase of your life. Saturn in Aries will continue through 2028, so over the next three years, patience and persistence will prove to be invaluable resources.
The last time Saturn was in Aries was from 1996 to 1999, meaning that individuals born during this period — as well as those born during Saturn’s earlier Aries transits (1937–1940 and 1967–1969) — will be experiencing their Saturn returns. This cosmic rite of passage brings important milestones, tests, and opportunities for personal growth as they reckon with their past and step into their future.
It’s worth noting that Saturn is considered to be in its “fall” in Aries, meaning the planet’s disciplined, methodical energy feels somewhat at odds with Aries’ impulsive, fiery nature. Saturn prefers structure and long-term planning, while Aries thrives on immediacy and bold action. This combination challenges us to channel our ambition productively, emphasizing the importance of self-restraint, perseverance, and strategy.
On June 9, Jupiter will finally say good-bye to Gemini — which it has occupied since May 2024 — and shift into the sensitive, delicate world of Cancer. This placement emphasizes nurturing connections, finding comfort in our roots, and embracing community care, especially around women and femme matters.
Jupiter is exalted in Cancer, meaning it operates exceptionally well in this zodiac sign, showering us with opportunities for growth and healing. Whether it’s cultivating deeper relationships or redefining femininity, this transit encourages us to lean into what nourishes us. Just don’t let Jupiter’s expansive energy lead to overindulgence — set boundaries around self-care to stay balanced.
The last time Jupiter moved through Cancer was from 2013 to 2014, so we can also look back to what was going on in our lives then for insight as to how we may experience this transit soon. Patterns, themes, and opportunities from that period may resurface, offering clarity and growth as Jupiter once again showers us with its expansive, nurturing energy. In short: We have some good luck ahead!
Uranus — the planet of disruption and innovation — will move into Gemini on July 7, 2025, following its cruise through Taurus, which began in 2018 and ushered in unprecedented changes in economy, agriculture, medicine, and the environment along with it (oh, and a literal pandemic). Uranus is a distant planet with a long orbit, so this will be the first time Uranus is moving into this mercurial air sign in 84 years. Now, what’s really interesting is that every 84 years we seem to experience some sort of historic conflict, and Uranus always seems to be in Gemini during that time: Previous Uranus in Gemini dates are 1941–1949, 1858–1866, and 1774–1782. Quite the pattern, am I right?
But don’t panic. History doesn’t necessarily have to repeat itself … in the same way. Uranus in Gemini will be shaking up how we communicate, express thoughts, and share ideas. Undoubtedly, this will be a time of rapid technological advancements and breakthroughs in education and media. Expect shifts in how information flows, as well as revolutionary changes in global networks, transportation, and — yes — our relationship with things like cryptocurrency, AI, and space travel. On an individual level, Uranus in Gemini is guaranteed to inspire curiosity and adaptability, along with some highly distractible energy. But don’t worry: Uranus will remain in Gemini until 2033, so this story has time to unfold.
Meanwhile, the Virgo-Pisces eclipse series begins to pick up steam. After our initial touchdown on September 18, 2024, we have three eclipses on this axis in the year ahead (on March 14, September 7, and September 21). With the North Node of Destiny positioned in Pisces, we’ll be directed toward spiritual wisdom, relinquishing our need for perfection. Throughout this eclipse cycle, we’ll be challenged to trade polished veneers for spiritual depth, finding fulfillment in surrendering to the messy, magical flow of existence.
Sorry, but: Mars retrograde will make the start of 2025 feel slower than we’d like. Mars is the planet of action, motivation, and libido, so when this firecracker stops functioning, everything goes a little … limp. As Mars shifts backward from Leo into Cancer on January 6, it challenges us to confront emotional undercurrents and reevaluate our approach to progress. Instead of charging ahead with “New Year, new me” energy, Mars retrograde asks us to take a step back, clean house, and focus on intention over speed. While setbacks and frustrations are inevitable, this period lays the groundwork for a more purposeful and aligned path forward once Mars stations direct on February 23. Try to remember that while the year might be off to a bit of a drawn-out and weird start, it’s going to help us be prepared for all the massive changes and pivots coming our way. So, not the worst thing?
Yep, we also have a Venus retrograde coming up in 2025! Lasting 40 days and 40 nights, this is a very mystical and unique retrograde motion, as Venus’ backward motion through the sky shifts the planet from an evening star (rising after the sun) to a morning star (rising before the sun). This powerful transformation occurs on a personal level, too, evolving our relationships, values, and self-worth on a deeply personal level. This year, Venus retrograde will begin in Aries on March 1, move into Pisces on March 27, and finally go direct on April 12.
And, of course, what’s a year without Mercury retrograde? In 2025, Mercury retrogrades three times:
- March 15 (9° Aries) – April 7 (29° Pisces)
- July 18 (15° Leo) – August 11 (4° Leo)
- November 9 (6° Sagittarius) – November 29 (20° Scorpio)
Each retrograde will bring its usual share of communication mishaps, travel delays, and tech issues. But with Mercury retrograde kicking off in the fire signs, the focus will be on balancing our day-to-day responsibilities with our heart-led passions. Though Mercury retrograde is bound to be a headache inducer, think of these periods as your chance to slow down and take a quick inventory. These are excellent opportunities to revisit old ideas (especially the creative projects you’ve put on ice), reorganize your plans, and reflect on your communication style. And, yes, be sure to proofread all your emails and make sure that the text you meant to send to your situationship is not winding up in your boss’s inbox. Capisce?
Are you ready? You better get ready, Aries. With Neptune entering your sign on March 20 for the first time in your lifetimes (unless you’re very, very, very old), you’re beginning a 14-year journey of spiritual awakening, artistic breakthroughs, and self-discovery. This transformative energy will invite you to dream beyond limits and redefine your identity. Then, a few days later, on March 29, the final eclipse on the Aries-Libra axis will close out a chapter that began in 2023, urging you to reflect on lessons about independence, connection, and purpose. But that’s not all! Saturn also moves into Aries on May 24, adding discipline and determination to the mix as you continue your pursuit of self-discovery. All in all, this year is going to be one where you truly forge your own path — don’t let anyone or anything slow you down.
Taurus, 2025 invites you to celebrate how much you’ve grown over the past several years, while preparing for an exciting new chapter. Since 2018, Uranus (the planet of innovation and revolution) has pushed you to embrace change and leave behind outdated ideas of stability. Your life has gone through a radical rebellion — and you, too, have become almost unrecognizable. Now, as Uranus wraps up its time in your sign and prepares to shift into Gemini, it’s time to take these pursuits to the next level. As you step into 2025, you’re poised to build a life that reflects your authenticity, resilience, and bold new vision for the future. Keep going!
Vive la révolution! With Uranus — the planet of revolution and rebellion — entering your sign, you’re stepping into a brand-new seven-year cycle of innovation, creativity, and personal reinvention. Jupiter already paved the way (the planet of expansion entered your zodiac sign in May 2024), but now things are about to get even more radical. This is a year to explore what excites you, whether that’s through new ideas, connections, or cataclysmic changes in how you live your life. You’re on the brink of breakthroughs, Gemini, so trust your instincts and let curiosity guide the way.
If the year starts off a bit bumpy, don’t worry: It’s not an indication of what the rest of 2025 has in store. Mars retrograde ushers us into the New Year, shifting into your zodiac sign on January 6, and encouraging you to pause and reassess where you’re directing your energy. This might cause some stress and unnecessary slowdowns, but it’s actually divinely timed, setting you up for the extraordinary bounty that’s to come midyear. This June, Jupiter’s arrival in your sign (for the first time in 12 years!) brings blessings, healing, and abundance in nearly every aspect of your life. Don’t stress about this year, Cancer. Everything is going to work in your favor.
The year ahead is about stepping boldly into the life you’ve been envisioning — letting your creativity shine and your curiosity take you to new heights. Neptune and Saturn in Aries ignite a new chapter of learning, growth, and self-expression, challenging you to push beyond what’s comfortable. What’s more, your birthday season this year is extra vibrant: The rare Uranus-Neptune conjunction touches down in August, which means a lot of powerful and notable events will be taking place this summer. So, whatever this post-brat era holds for you, it’s guaranteed to be fabulous.
For the past 14 years, Neptune has been moving through Pisces — your opposite sign — deepening your spirituality and your artistic pursuits, while also making your most important relationship dynamics somewhat strange and foggy. This year, Neptune finally shifts into a new zodiac sign, and simultaneous eclipses in your zodiac sign begin to highlight the importance of self-care. Fundamentally, 2025 is about releasing perfectionism, the illusion of control, and the fear of failure. This year, you’re invited to focus on the essentials, what truly matters, and creating a life that feels intentional and grounded. It may not always be easy, but I promise you’re going to love the outcome.
You’re symbolized by the scales — but, be honest, have you been feeling a little disharmonious recently? 2025 is defined by tons of activity in Aries’ domain: Neptune moving into Aries, Saturn moving into Aries, a solar eclipse in Aries, Mercury retrograde in Aries, and even Venus retrograde in Aries! And, for you, all of that Aries intensity illuminates the area of your chart associated with partnership, relationships, contracts, and interpersonal dynamics. What does that mean, Libra? In the 12 months ahead, you are actually going to have to evaluate what it truly means to counterbalance — to honor your needs while maintaining harmony with others. This year challenges you to reclaim your individuality within your relationships, redefine boundaries, and create partnerships that feel both equitable and authentic.
How powerful are you, Scorpio? It’s immeasurable, of course, but now — with your planetary ruler Pluto settling into Aquarius — you might even surprise yourself with your boundless strength and tenacity. Pluto’s movement into Aquarius activates the area of your chart associated with family, foundation, and ancestral roots, demanding that you fearlessly explore your origin. Why are you the way you are, Scorpio? What motivates you? What drives you? And, most important, how can you honor your past while sculpting your future, all while making sure you’ve properly positioned yourself in the present? When you lean into change and allow vulnerability to guide you, you’ll find yourself stronger, freer, and more aligned than ever. The bitch is back.
For you, the year ahead is going to be one of emotional expansion, especially as it relates to the most important relationships in your life. With Jupiter, your planetary ruler, shifting into Cancer, you’ll be invited to deepen your connections and explore the meaning of true intimacy. And, yes, that kind of vulnerability is scary! At the same time, Uranus in Gemini (your opposite sign) shakes up your perspective on interpersonal dynamics, encouraging you to embrace new ideas and unconventional paths. This year isn’t about choosing between heart and mind — it’s about letting them work together. I know you’ve got a million places to go, Sagittarius, but in 2025, make sure you stay as close to your truth as possible.
So, uh, should we talk about the last 16 years? Since 2008, Pluto (the planet of transformation) had been drifting through your zodiac sign, and while the change was important, it was also incredibly challenging. Frankly, you need a break. Luckily, Pluto just shifted into Aquarius, and as this distant planet continues to gain momentum in its new home, you’ll be feeling increasingly stronger, clearer, and more confident about who you are and what you want. Plus, planet of expansion Jupiter drifts into Cancer (your opposite sign), turning your focus to relationships and bringing new types of interpersonal dynamics (both romantic and professional) into your life. Are you ready to make some big commitments? 2025 will certainly be the year of contracts for you, Capricorn, so be prepared to sign on the dotted line.
The world is waiting for you, Aquarius! Now that Pluto (the planet of transformation) is in your sign to stay (it will be there until 2043!), you’re at the very beginning of an exciting metamorphosis. Your identity, your values, your motivation — even your style! — is going to experience massive upheaval, pushing you to confront old patterns and step fully into your authenticity. Plus, with Uranus (your planetary ruler) moving into Gemini, a like-minded air sign, this summer, you’ll be entering yet another brand-new cycle defined by creativity, passion, and newfound vitality.
What’s changed in your life since 2011? If the answer is #Everything, imagine how massive it’s going to be when Neptune — the planet of illusion and delusion — finally moves out of your zodiac sign in 2025? With Neptune saying au revoir to your sky (and never returning in our lifetime), you’re closing a long chapter of deep spiritual growth, creative inspiration, and more delulus than you could count. But don’t be too sad: This year, the North Node of destiny in your zodiac will get more and more activated by the upcoming eclipses, meaning you’ll be presented with multiple opportunities to integrate everything you’ve learned over the past 14 years, turning your dreams into reality. This is your moment, Pisces, to step out of the fog, embrace clarity, and settle into a brand-new story line.
