WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WETM) – The Village of Watkins Glen is receiving funds to improve its water infrastructure, and in turn, create more jobs, as announced by Congressman Nick Langworthy this afternoon.
The funding was awarded to the village through a tax-payer-funded Economic Development Administration grant to improve the water infrastructure and increase water capacity for the local business community in Watkins Glen.
The grant will be used to restore Watkins Glen’s water storage tank and pump station, replace water lines and make other necessary infrastructure improvements to increase capacity, according to the EDA.
Additionally, the grant will be matched with $4.6 million in local funds and is anticipated to create and maintain 120 jobs.
