“We have a big week ahead of us with a variety of events such as the Monday Night Chute-Out Rodeo, Queen’s Pageant, Draft Horse Pulls, and Woodsman Competition, along with our spectacular musical entertainers and 40th-anniversary motorsports events,” the Fair said in a Facebook post.
The Fair will kick off in earnest Monday with the traditional no gate fee day, highlighted by the Fair Queen Contest at 7 p.m. at the KeyBank Pavilion.
From there, the week is jammed packed with a wide variety of events.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Motorsports Arena.
The slate of events in that realm will include drag racing on Tuesday night followed by the antique tractor pulls on Wednesday and the Farm Stock Tractors Dead Boat Pull on Thursday.
The Modified Truck & Tractor Pull follows on Thursday with Stock Car Football and fireworks rounding out the week on Saturday night.
Music highlights at the Fair this year include Sammy Kershaw on Tuesday and The Highwaymen on Wednesday. Both concerts will start at 7:30 p.m.
Penn Valley Shows will run the rides on the midway each day – Wednesday through Saturday – from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“We have rides for everyone to enjoy, from adolescents to adults,” organizers say. “You can also take the time to play various carnival games suited to different skill sets.”
The family shows offered three times daily will include “Stone Age,” a “journey back in time to see live dinosaurs, cavemen performers doing acrobatic and aerial stunts” and “Magic on the Farm.”
“We can’t forget the delicious food and drinks to enjoy, domestic exhibits, and hundreds of animals that help us celebrate agriculture in our county,” organizers say.
A series of demonstrations each day will drive that point home further each day.
A miniature horse and pack goat demonstration will be Tuesday with canning and oxen programs on Wednesday followed by sheep shawling and weaving with the Kinzua Spinners and master gardeners on Thursday.
Friday’s demonstrations will include dairy, art therapy and rabbit hopping while the Hilltop Spinners will demonstrate fiber preparation and spinning on Saturday.
Gates will open each day at 8 a.m.
