CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — West Virginia American Water announced Thursday a $315,000 infrastructure investment in Charleston’s East End aims to improve reliability for customers and firefighters.
The project will replace more than 600 feet of water main along Quarrier Street from Elizabeth Street to Ruffner Avenue, according to a news release from the water company.
The news release said crews will work Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and construction will restrict traffic in the area.
During construction, customers have experience disruptions in service, low water pressure and discolored water.
WVAM expects the project to be complete in early October.
