Verve, the literary and talent agency, is adding to its leadership ranks.

The Los Angeles-based representation firm has hired executive Jennifer Jones as its general counsel/head of business affairs and promoted partner Liz Parker to managing partner, the agency said on Thursday.

Jones arrives from Condé Nast, where she worked for three years as head of global business affairs, leading dealmaking for content at the magazine giant. Previously, Jones had been vp, business affairs at Disney+, worked on legal affairs at Marvel Entertainment and was an attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson.

Parker, newly promoted to managing partner after being upped to partner last year, has now gained oversight over Verve’s day-to-day operations and will lead strategic initiatives. She joined the agency in 2018 from InkWell Management to launch Verve’s publishing division and in 2022 was named co-head of Motion Picture Literary.

Parker recently worked on deals including an upcoming Chris Farley biopic set up at New Line and the auction of the Scarlett Johansson-starring, Greg Berlanti-produced thriller Sasha to Amazon MGM. The agent also has looked to adapt Reddit IP for potential movie and TV deals.

“Liz has been the secret sauce behind some of our biggest wins, and her leadership has driven some of our most successful initiatives,” stated Verve co-founders Bryan Besser and Adam Levine. “Jennifer is a rockstar in her field and a perfect fit for Verve as we navigate the next chapter.”

“It’s been a wild ride, and we’re just getting started,” Parker noted. “I’m honored to take on this new role and continue expanding Verve’s reach and platform, alongside such a talented team and vibrant culture that truly sets us apart.”

Jones added, “Verve’s knack for pushing the envelope has always impressed me. Joining the team at such a transformative time is incredibly exciting, and I’m eager to contribute to our next big successes.”
