UWF ranks top 10 in U.S. News & World Report’s Top Public Schools – Regional South Rankings – University of West Florida Newsroom

“These national rankings reflect the high-quality programs, world class faculty and supportive staff we have at UWF,” said UWF President Martha D. Saunders. “We remain steadfast in our commitment to providing students with an abundance of opportunities. We are grateful to our Board of Trustees, the Florida Board of Governors and the Florida Legislature for supporting our efforts.” 

UWF also ranked in the top 10 in the Best Colleges for Veterans – Regional Universities South category, coming in at No. 9. This is the third consecutive year ranked in the top 10 in the category. UWF is well known for its support for veterans, active-duty service members and their dependents through the Military & Veterans Resource Center. The MVRC serves as a leading campus advocate for military, dependents and veteran students, coordinating with multiple university offices and services to ensure their needs are met. The Center provides assistance with VA education benefits, active duty tuition assistance, out-of-state fee waiver, academic advising coordination and tutoring. UWF consistently earns accolades such as being named a Military Friendly® School, which distinguishes UWF as an institution committed to sustained success for veterans, active duty members of the armed forces, future Army and Air Force officers and other military affiliated students. 

UWF climbed up to No. 23 in the Regional Universities South category. UWF also received badges in the categories of Social Mobility – Regional Universities South; Best Undergraduate Psychology; and Best Undergraduate Nursing.  

U.S. News & World Report bases its rankings by comparing institutions across the nation on multiple diverse academic measures. This is the 40th year for the rankings.
