Using new technology to streamline ag processes

Technology-driven solutions are helping farmers navigate the challenges of the industry.

Tracey Wiedmeyer is the CEO and co-founder of Gripp, a platform designed to help farmers manage their on-farm data and communication.

“The premise of Gripp was that agriculture maintenance is underserved,” he says. “You go find folks like myself who’ve had technology backgrounds to help carry a bag of tools, including a laptop, to the farm to try and understand what’s going on to solve their challenges.”

He tells Brownfield technology will continue to drive the ag space.

“A depressed commodity cycle, international competition from places like Brazil and Argentina have farmers thinking about the trusted approaches that have been done,” he says. “But how do you make it as simple as possible using technology, so it doesn’t create more work, but it works for them.”

Gripp was recently awarded first prize and $100,000 for the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Ag Innovation Challenge in San Antonio.
