Under Armour has signed DP World Tour player Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen to an apparel and footwear deal that will see the 25-year-old Dane wear the brand’s clothing and shoes on and off the golf course in 2025.
Neergaard-Petersen joins UA Golf’s Tour roster having burst onto the professional scene in 2024 following a highly decorated amateur and collegiate career. Unveiled at UA’s’s Golf Performance Centre at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire, the talented Dane underwent UA’s unique footwear optimisation process in a pair of UA Drive Pro spiked shoes as part of his introduction to the brand.
During the process, which utilises a proprietary combination of Biomecaforce AI-driven force plates, launch monitor data, and SIDAS Podiatech technology – Rasmus saw an increase in clubhead speed of 2.5mph with a 5-iron and an increase in peak vertical force of 5%, due to the UA Drive Pro promoting better grounding through impact and optimising his ability to create sheer force in his swing.
Speaking after the session, Neergaard-Petersen, who is currently 107th in the world ranking, said: “Today’s process demonstrates clearly there are significant performance gains to be had from wearing the right footwear. It gives me absolute confidence that the team at UA is building the best performance footwear in the game and i’m incredibly excited to represent the brand and start wearing the Drive Pro in competition.”
Neergaard-Petersen kicked off the season in UA outfitting at the Dubai Desert Classic where he competed wearing UA Drive Pants, a combination of Drive Chill and Playoff Polos, and Drive Midlayer styles. All head-to-toe looks were completed with the UA Drive Pro shoes.
The signing marks the third major player to join UA’s Tour staff since the start of 2024, alongside South Africa’s Christo Lamprecht and England’s Kris Kim, as well as PGA Tour winner Maverick McNealy and three-time major champion Jordan Spieth.
Kevin Ross, Managing Director of EMEA at Under Armour, said: “We are very excited that Rasmus will join the growing under armour golf roster. You need to be a special talent to win on the challenge tour three times and to top the rankings in 2024. We know Rasmus is just getting started and we will ensure to equip him with the latest apparel and footwear innovations, so that he has no distractions when it counts.”
