Twin Cities Business has acquired Tech.MN, a news site focused on Minnesota’s startup community.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tech.MN readers to TCB,” said Twin Cities Business editor-in-chief Allison Kaplan. “Tech.MN has been a valued resource for Minnesota’s startup community since 2009, and as TCB has stepped up its coverage of entrepreneurship and innovation in the last few years with the creation of StartMN, we are pleased to share this content with the Tech.MN audience.”
With a presence online and in print, StartMN is TCB’s hub for entrepreneurial news, networking, and advice. That’s where you’ll now find Tech.MN’s startup events calendar, a community-driven calendar powered in partnership with Launch Minnesota, as well as tips and perspectives from local innovators and thought leaders. The StartMN newsletter, free to anyone who subscribes, goes out the last Monday of every month. The next print edition of StartMN will be out in the October/November issue of Twin Cities Business.
Co-founded by Jeff Pesek in 2009, Tech.MN became an important resource for local technology news. The site has changed hands a few times—SureSwift Capital acquired it in 2019. In 2021, Tech.MN was purchased by Beta, the nonprofit early-stage accelerator program that produces Twin Cities Startup Week.
“We couldn’t have found a better fit than Twin Cities Business —a beacon of dedication to the Twin Cities’ business community,” said Beta Executive Director Cihan Behlivan. “I’m thrilled at the thought of staying in the loop on Minnesota startup news, now through the lens of TCB. Here’s to the exciting journey ahead!”
Added Kaplan, “At TCB, we appreciate the legacy of Tech.MN as an industry resource. We look forward to serving you as both news source and connector for our vibrant startup community.”
