Trump blames X tech issues for ‘strange’ voice during Elon Musk interview

Former President Donald Trump has insisted X’s tech issues are to blame for him sounding “somewhat different and strange” during his much-anticipated interview with billionaire Elon Musk.

Trump, 78, pointed the finger at the social media platform after viewers of Monday night’s livestream interview probed whether the Republican presidential candidate was slurring or had a lisp.

“Unfortunately, because of the complexity of modern day equipment, and cellphone technology, my voice was, in certain areas, somewhat different and strange,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social late Tuesday as he addressed concerns over his vocals.

“Therefore, we have put out an actual, and perfect, recording of the conversation.”

The ex-commander-in-chief went on to praise his two-hour chat with the tech titan, which more than 1.2 million X users tuned in for at once.

“My conversation with Elon last night was heard by a RECORD audience, and was really something special, as Elon himself is very special – and I thank him for such a strong Endorsement!” Trump added in his post.

The interview was initially delayed by roughly 40 minutes — a glitch Musk initially blamed on a server attack but then backtracked and attributed to “unforced errors” and “mistakes” by his X team.

“Given the prominence of this conversation, there was of course a 100% probability of DDOS attacks,” Musk said, referring to a “Distributed Denial of Service” — an online site breakdown that occurs when fake users flood its server and block incoming traffic.

“We also had some unforced errors ourselves,” he added in response to a slew of complaints.

The ex-commander-in-chief also praised his two-hour interview with Musk, which more than 1.2 million X users tuned in for at once.

“But good work by the X team fending off the attacks and fixing our mistakes! All’s well that ends well.”

Trump and Musk ended up chewing over several key 2024 election issues during their X discussion, including immigration, foreign policy, inflation, government spending and energy.
