The All-Western New York soccer banquet is scheduled for next week, and the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Athletic Association will be well-represented at Antonio’s Banquet and Conference Center in Niagara Falls by 10 boys from seven different schools.
Headlining that group is Southwestern’s Connor Young, who was selected to the All-WNY overall team. The senior forward amassed 41 goals and 19 assists to lead the Trojans to a 17-3-0 record.
The other CCAA player to make the overall team is junior midfielder Cooper Wilczewski of Allegany-Limestone, who registered 15 goals and collected six assists for the Gators (19-3-0).
Other CCAA players chosen for the All-Western New York Small Schools team are Seth Vaughn of Southwestern, Carson Swanson of Westfield/Brocton, Cooper Freeman of Randolph, Arley Culver of Maple Grove, Owen Doherty of Ellicottville, Brady German of Portville, and Zander Parsons and Carson Kwiatkowski, both of Allegany-Limestone.
Vaughn, a senior forward for the Trojans, tallied 26 goals to go along with 10 assists; Swanson, a senior forward, scored 26 goals and dished out 19 assists for the Wolverines (12-4-2); Freeman, a junior midfielder, erupted for 31 goals and added 12 assists for the Cardinals (14-4-1); Culver, a senior forward, scored 19 goals and had nine assists for the Red Dragons (9-6-1); Doherty, a senior forward, tallied 22 goals to go along with 11 assists for the Eagles 9-7-2); German, a senior midfielder, collected six goals and 13 assists for the Panthers (11-3-2); and senior defenders Parsons and Kwiatkowski had 13 goals and four assists, and four goals and two assists, respectively, for the Gators.
Sixteen players were selected to each of the overall, and large- and small-school teams.
