Diogo Jota needed only one chance to highlight his importance for Liverpool, as his typically calm and composed finish to salvage a 2-2 draw with Fulham last Saturday showed how deadly a finisher he is.
Jota’s two-month absence through injury was an opportunity for Darwin Nunez, but the inconsistent Uruguayan has failed to take his chance. It is difficult to see Nunez taking that same chance against Fulham.
So with Arne Slot weighing up who will be his first-choice No 9, how do the two compare and is it too simple to say that Jota is more useful to Slot simply because his goalscoring record is better?
Gregg Evans and Andy Jones discuss the situation below.
