Figma Pulls New AI Tool That Copied Apple’s Weather App
Figma’s newly introduced tool, Make Designs, allowed users to swiftly create app mockups using generative AI. However, the tool has been withdrawn after facing backlash for generating designs that closely resembled Apple’s iOS weather app. Figma CEO Dylan Field shared a series of posts on X on Tuesday morning, explaining the decision to pull the tool. He accepted responsibility for pressuring the team to meet a tight deadline and defended the company’s strategy for developing its AI-driven tools.
AI Spam Ranks Higher Than Original Content In Google Search
The increasing prevalence of AI-generated spam articles, often referred to as “AI slop,” has led Google to implement measures to reduce the impact of this low-quality content on its search results. However, a recent report in Wired said that Google’s earlier policy changes may have been insufficient — or that creators of AI-generated content have discovered new ways to bypass these measures. Consequently, some AI-generated spam articles, copied from original publishers, are now appearing higher in search rankings than the original news stories.
iPhone 16 Leak: A18 Chipset May Be Used For All Models
The highly-anticipated iPhone 16 series is expected in September, in line with Apple’s traditional launch schedule. According to fresh iPhone 16 leaks, the tech giant may use the powerful A18 chipset across all iPhone 16 models. According to leaks, OnePlus Nord 4 is expected to make its debut at the OnePlus Summer Launch event. This follows the release pattern of its predecessor, the OnePlus Nord 3, which was introduced in July last year.
Netflix Phasing Out Cheapest Plan In Some Regions
Netflix is proceeding with its plan to phase out its cheapest ad-free basic plan for its existing subscribers in some regions. A number of posts on social media platforms including Reddit hint that the streaming giant is now pushing some basic plans to choose from if the users wish to continue their subscriptions. A Reddit user shared a notification which states, “Your last day to watch Netflix is July 13th. Choose a new plan to keep watching.”
