SHERMAN — Live music and family fun activities will be able to be found along Main Street in Sherman this Saturday.

The third annual Sherman Music Festival is set for Saturday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Cooler Bar and Grille, 114 W. Main St., and Edmund Park across the road. The event will include live music being played by bands throughout that time period, along with games and food.

Michelle Emory with the Sherman Chamber of Commerce said the chamber originally started the event three years ago to offer the community another family event.

“The chamber wanted to give back to the community with a family friendly event,” Emory said. “The event allows people to listen to live music and get together and enjoy themselves.”

Featured bands for this year’s festival are; Angel Marie, who will be playing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Dean Well who will be from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Derek Davis from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Brian Chase from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Honky Tonk Heroes from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The bands will be playing on the outside stage of the Cooler Bar and Grille and will be able to be seen from Edmund Park. There will also be food vendors out on the day; Mama’s Pizza, On The Fly, Krasa’s Ice Cream, Best of Buffalo, and LA Bakery. Games for both adults and kids will include things such as Connect Four and a volleyball tournament at 3 p.m. sponsored by the Class of 2027.

Emory said the weather is looking great for the day and encouraged everyone to come out to the festival.

“It’s a free event, and I welcome everyone to come out for food, to socialize and listen to live music,” Emory said. “The park is right across the street and there will be things for kids to do as well. You can bring your own lawn chairs and come enjoy food and live music.”

Sponsors for the Sherman Music Festival include; Sherman Area Pharmacy, Cooler Bar and Grille, the Inn on Main, NAPA, Miss Laura’s Place and the Sherman Community Bank.

Emory added that in the first year of the event the chamber had a charge for it, but after it was such a success they decided to make it free, saying that it was a nice thing to be able to do for the community to thank them for their support throughout the year.

Emory invited everyone to come out to the free event, bring their own chair or tent if they would like, and come enjoy live entertainment for both adults and kids in a “family fun day”. No outside coolers or alcohol is permitted.

“We hope to see everyone there,” Emory said. “It’s going to be a great day. Come enjoy our last outdoor event before the seasons change.”
