Police asked for the public’s help identifying a man in connection with the theft of a shopping cart containing thousands of dollars in cashiers checks and other items.

A thief made off with a shopping cart Wednesday that contained $40,000 in cashiers checks and other valuables, according to the NYPD.
Police released an image of a man Friday they suspect robbed an 85-year-old woman who was walking with the cart in Fordham around noon.
The NYPD said the man grabbed the shopping cart off the woman at Marion Avenue and East 195th Street in the 52 precinct. The incident took place around noon.
The shopping cart had an iPhone, multiple credit and debit cards along with the cashiers checks, according to police. They said the woman was not injured.
Police said they are still looking for the man in connection with grand larceny. The suspect fled the scene down East 195th Street, according to the NYPD.
