These price drops caught us off guard! These Labor Day deals bring all-time low prices

Must read

We’ll cut right to the chase: Sometimes, even us shopping pros are shocked by how much some retailers slash the pricing on some must-buys. We’re been scouring the internet all week to find the best Labor Day sales that’ll save you some serious money. We delve into price histories, compare pricing across retailers and — in the case of these deals, had to re-check a few times to ensure we weren’t seeing things.

We’re talking tech finds, home goods, kitchen products and beauty faves that are at (or near) all-time low prices. So snag them before they sell out!

Never mind that it’s a previous-generation model: iPads hold their value, and this iteration is one of the best tablets you can buy, period — especially at this heavily discounted price. A price break of $130 is significant, but that markdown is even more eye-catching when you consider this model comes with 64GB of storage. This is the absolute lowest price on record for the 9th Generation iPad — we highly recommend grabbing it while it’s 40% off.

Bonus: There are more juicy Apple Labor Day sales where that came from.

Retinol isn’t just for your face — the rest of your body deserves its benefits, too! The ingredient is beloved for its ability to help increase collagen production, which, in turn, can minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It can also be irritating if you’re just starting out, but this hydrating cream was formulated to be gentle enough for daily use. This price is on par with the lowest we’ve ever seen for it.

A top-selling Roomba that’s down to just $180 — its lowest price ever? We’ll take two! This gizmo will zap up all of that dust and debris on your floor while you relax on the sofa — nothing wrong with that. It runs for up to 120 minutes before heading back to its charging dock, and you can even schedule cleanings via the app.

I used to bake for a living, and my trusty KitchenAid stand mixer is my go-to appliance. Cake batters, cookie doughs, breads, frostings, meringues — you name it, I’ve probably made it using this mighty machine. Unlike flimsier mixers, this one is built to last (there’s a reason KitchenAids are often passed down from one generation to the next).

At 4.5 quarts, this No. 1 bestseller can hold enough dough to make up to eight dozen cookies at a time, though it won’t take up much room in your kitchen. Oh, and you’ll get a beater, dough hook and whisk attachments for making practically any baked good under the sun. While this isn’t the lowest price we’ve seen it on sale for, we’ll happily take a $50 discount.

CosRx has helped popularize snail mucin as a skin-care ingredient, but you shouldn’t sleep on its other products. Case in point: the Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Cream. A favorite among the K-beauty crowd, this face cream packs and seals moisture into dry, dehydrated skin. When we tested the best moisturizers, we loved this one for its lightweight, fast-absorbing formula and antioxidant ingredients.

In addition to hyaluronic acid, it contains vitamin tree water (also known as sea buckthorn), which is filled with vitamins, amino acids and fatty acids that help strengthen the skin barrier and increase hydration even more. The midrange price is the cherry on top.

Powered by the M2 chip, this MacBook Air is just as lightweight as its newer cousins but is available at a slightly discounted rate. This is as low as we’ve ever seen the MacBook drop, so now is the time to take advantage of those sweet, sweet savings.

One fan had nothing but praise. “18 hours of battery life is not just marketing, the speed of the M2 is snappy and can handle much more than I thought it would. The new screen is gorgeous. Trackpad is the best on the market bar none.”

Baseus has crafted amazingly good earbuds with a price tag that’s even more amazing: currently $20, the lowest price we’ve ever seen. They may not rival AirPods in terms of noise-canceling power or phone-call quality, but they sound great and promise even better battery life.

In our testing, we found they fit snugly and comfortably with the medium-size ear tips and hooks that came already installed. (Other sizes are included for those with larger or smaller ears.)

The charging case is on the larger side, and therefore not very pocket-friendly. It doesn’t support wireless charging, either — only USB-C — but it can recharge the earbuds more than 16 times before needing to be recharged itself. And the earbuds last up to eight hours, meaning you’re looking at nearly 140 total hours of playtime.

The Bowie MA10s produce rich and well-balanced sound, maybe not quite as full-bodied as AirPods, but extremely good overall. And if you like to fiddle with sound settings, the Baseus companion app provides 12 equalizer presets and lets you create multiple custom ones.

The shoes we deemed the best hiking boots overall are over 40% off at Amazon as Labor Day sales kick into gear. Yep, that’s right — you can score the beloved Merrell Moab 3 Hiking Boots for as little as $70 in both men’s and women’s styles.

Yahoo Commerce Executive Editor Nicole Sforza has been wearing Merrells since college and listed these as her favorite pair. She even wears them off the trails when she needs a little extra support. “I once had a bad foot issue and had to wear supportive hiking boots (even when not hiking!) and the doc recommended these,” she says. The only con? “They’re not the most fashionable things in the world.” Cris Hazzard of HikingGuy.com also counts these Merrells as a fave because “they’re tough, grippy and very comfortable,” he says.

Leading our list of the best stick vacuums is this Tineco, which hit the sweet spot in our testing for a sleek vacuum that offers solid performance, along with some snazzy features, at a competitive price.

It features a narrow brush head that swivels like a dream, and there are headlights for seeing under low furniture and in darker spaces. At 7 pounds, the S11 is also lightweight and, as several eavesdroppers noted during our testing, incredibly quiet — enough that it probably wouldn’t wake a sleeping baby.

The suction was superb in our “carpet course” test, with the Pure One S11 mowing down faux fur, sand, kitty litter, rice and cereal with ease. It only took one pass to pick up the latter from hardwood surfaces, including most if not all materials pushed up against or crushed into wall trims.

Cat hair was no obstacle, and the S11 was able to get all of the dog fur in our “pet passenger” test (though it may require an extra go for fur that’s matted into dense carpets). In real-life trials, we were able to cover several rooms — or the first floor of a house, plus stairs and some curtain detailing — in what proved a true run time of 40 minutes.

Talk about a multitasker! This 6-in-1 smokeless indoor grill also functions as a toaster oven, air fryer, dehydrator and more, meaning you can use it to make practically any meal of the day. Pancakes? Yup, there’s a griddle pan for that. Fries and wings? That’s what the crisper basket is for. Roasted veggies? Throw ’em on the baking tray! At nearly 65% off, this is the lowest price we’re seeing for this bestseller — it rarely goes lower. That gets a “Bam!”
