U.S. News & World Report released its lists of the best elementary and middle schools across the state.
Each year, U.S. News & World Report releases its rankings of the best schools in each state based on scores and other factors. It began producing lists for elementary and middle schools in 2021. For the most part, schools on these lists this year centered around Middle Tennessee with a few outliers in other parts of the state.

How U.S. News & World Reported came up with their rankings
Scores for schools were based on performance and proficiency in mathematics and reading. Of 105,093 pre-K, elementary and middle schools, the organization examined state scores to find students who were proficient or above proficient in these academic subjects.
The kindergarten through eighth grade rankings are entirely based on public data from the U.S. Department of Education.
