The empty Bed Bath & Beyond store in Mandeville will have a new tenant next year.
HomeGoods, a home furniture and décor store, will move into the Bed, Bath & Beyond site in the Premiere Centre on U.S. 190, said Rhonda Sharkawy, an agent with Stirling Properties, which manages the shopping center.
HomeGoods is currently located in another shopping center roughly across U.S. 190 from the Premiere Centre.
The store is expected to be up and running in the 30,500-square-foot space next spring, Sharkawy said.
She said some interior construction will take place before the store opens.
The former Bed Bath & Beyond anchor spot at the Premiere Centre, which also includes a Whole Foods, Barnes & Noble, Target and Old Navy, has been vacant since the end of 2023, when the national retailer closed it and several other Louisiana locations.
The New Jersey-based company filed for bankruptcy in 2023. Overstock.com later purchased Bed Bath & Beyond’s retail assets for $21.5 million.
Sharkawy said the addition of HomeGoods will bring the Premiere Centre’s occupancy rate to 100%.
Started in 1992, HomeGoods operates more than 900 stores across the U.S. HomeGoods also has locations in Jefferson Parish, Hammond, Houma and Baton Rouge.
