I have been using Android phones since smartphones first became a thing, and while I don’t plan on changing that any time soon, I do understand the appeal of an iPhone. My wife has been an iPhone user ever since I’ve known her and the smoothness of iOS does make it a nice experience.
But when it came time for me to upgrade to a new phone this year, I still decided to stick with Android. It was last Prime Day that I bought the Google Pixel 8 when it went on sale, and I have had no regrets ever since. I would have opted for the more powerful Google Pixel 8 Pro that is currently on sale now, but the price was still a bit too high. Now that it’s dropped down below $600, it’s definitely worth buying if you’re looking for a good iPhone alternative to buy during Prime Big Deals Days.

If you’re wondering if this deal is worth taking advantage of, the answer is yes. This is the lowest price we’ve ever seen on the Pixel 8 Pro at Amazon. Before October Prime Day, the biggest discount I’d seen was when the iPhone 16 first came out back in September, but that was still more than $30 above today’s price.
It is worth noting that the Pixel 8 Pro is getting such a big discount because the Pixel 9 Pro launched earlier this year and made this model a little bit more redundant. However, with the Pixel 8 Pro now reduced to almost half the price, I think it’s definitely worth picking up the older generation model to save money.
More Android Phones on Sale at Amazon
Overall, I think this deal on the Pixel 8 Pro is the best phone deal being offered during the October Prime Day sale. There are still some other discounts worth looking at, though. Amazon is currently slashing prices on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. This is a great discount if you’re hoping to upgrade to a foldable phone. There’s also the OnePlus 12 we reviewed earlier this year that is an overall excellent phone outside the Google and Samsung brands.
