U.S. News & World Report used data from the Nevada Department of Education to rank the best charter schools in the country. The American media company based it ranking on six factors: college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rates. This was the same methodology used for U.S. News’ high school ranking list.
Arizona far out-performed other states in the charter school arena, taking seven out of the top 10 spots in U.S. News’ ranking. However, Arizona has far more charter schools than other states. For context, Arizona has 513 operating charter schools, Nevada has 91.
