Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Communication and Informatics Ministry’s Director General of Public Information and Communication, Usman Kansong, stated that the telecommunications infrastructure to support the Bali 10th World Water Forum (WWF) has been prepared well.

“(The preparation) has been 100 percent, (and now), just the finishing touches. We are tidying up and testing the media center and the delivery of images at the WWF locations to make sure everything goes well,” Kansong stated when contacted by ANTARA on Friday.

In an effort to ensure telecommunications networks remain operational, resilient, and effective during the WWF in Bali, he remarked that the ministry has made various mitigation and anticipatory efforts.

To anticipate potential disturbances on several telecommunication lines, the ministry and state-owned telecommunications company Telkom has conducted a simulation by using other lines as alternatives.

This step was taken to ensure optimal internet capacity and speed throughout the event.

“This is to see how the internet capacity is and to ensure the speed does not drop. It was tested by Telkom,” Kansong stated.

The Communication and Informatics Ministry also cooperates with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) to ensure data security during the event.

The 10th WWF in Bali prioritizes four issues: water conservation, clean water and sanitation, food and energy security, and mitigation of natural disasters.

The Indonesian government also invited 43 ambassadors and representatives from four international organizations to participate in the forum in order to make the event a success.
