Switzerland should create a new national governance body to oversee its management of research infrastructures, according to the Swiss National Science Foundation.
Infrastructures are “vital” for research, the SNSF explained in a paper it published on 15 May setting out its proposal. It added that Switzerland is home to several globally and nationally important ones, including those operated by the European organisation for nuclear research, Cern.
