STEINHATCHEE, Fla. (WCTV) – As Christmas is near, parents aren’t the only ones shopping for their loved ones.
Monday, Steinhatchee School students spent their morning bringing in their holiday spirit by shopping for their family at the Rack Up Thrift Store Steinhatchee’s Santa Shop.
All funds raised during the students’ Christmas shopping are donated back to the Steinhatchee School.
For kids who don’t have enough money to purchase their gifts, sponsors who donated to the event cover the remaining expenses. Once students select their gifts, volunteers wrap the gifts for them.
Additionally, kids in attendance receive hot chocolate, cookies, books and giveaways.
Last year, $2300 was raised from the shopping of 100 kids.
More Steinatchee School students are expected to shop Tuesday from 8 to 11 a.m.
