The Batesville swim teams traveled to Connersville to take on the Spartans and Eastern Hancock. The Bulldog girls team edged EIAC rival Connersville 116-112, and went to 4-0 on the season with a 129-82 win over the Royals. The Batesville boys teams dropped both meets. They seemingly won the 200 medley relay before being disqualified for an early start.
Batesville freshman boys basketball is 2-0 after topping East Central 33-25. Sam Dice led the way for the Bulldogs with 10 points, followed by Jackson Peetz with 9.

The Brooklyn Nets beat the Pacers 99-90 in NBA action heard last night on WRBI. Indiana has dropped four in a row and falls to 9-14 on the year. The Pacers visit the Chicago Bulls tomorrow night.
Bengals kicker Evan McPherson is expected to miss several weeks because of a right groin injury. The team says he suffered the injury in last Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh. A timeline for his return was not given, and he was placed on the injured reserve list for the first time in his four-year NFL career. McPherson has connected on a career-low 72 percent of his field goal attempts this year. The Bengals have signed former Cleveland and Washington kicker Cade York to handle the kicking duties while McPherson is on the shelf.
