Cross country: Northwest Conference Championships
3:20 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Civic Stadium
The Northwest Conference cross country teams kick off the 2024 fall sports postseason with a race at Civic Stadium. It will be the second time these teams compete at the stadium against each other, also competing at the Gear Up Northwest Preview in September. Several runners will begin to make their marks for a state title.
WWU men’s basketball Blue-White scrimmage
1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20 at Carver Gym
The men’s basketball team begins the preseason with an inter-squad scrimmage on their home court. Freshmen will be showcasing their talent for the first time while the seniors will be playing in their final scrimmage before the 2024-25 season begins.
Howl-o-ween Downtown Dog Parade
12-3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 27, downtown Bellingham
Howl-o-ween will be full of dogs in costumes and will have music by the Mighty Bayou Opposums, costume contests, a photo booth, dog pastries, tricks and treats, and dog trivia. Proceeds will go to Shadow’s Forever Friends.
