Prep basketball: Jamboree
12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at Bellingham High School
Bellingham, Sehome and Squalicum basketball teams will begin the winter sports season with a jamboree at Bellingham High School. The girls teams will start at 12 p.m. and scrimmage against each other for about an hour. Once the girls teams wrap up, the boys will tip off their season at 1 p.m.
WWU: Men’s basketball vs. Douglas College
7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 at Carver Gymnasium
The Western men’s basketball team is off to a hot start with a 4-0 record as of Sunday, Nov. 17, including a buzzer-beating victory against No. 12 Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Vikings will play Douglas College to wrap up a three-game home series.
Thanksgiving Day XC World Championships XV
9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 at Cornwall Park
Before eating a bunch of turkey, ham, collard greens and sweets, BBay Running will be hosting a 3.4 mile-long cross country run through Cornwall Park in the morning. People are welcomed to walk, jog or run and costume-wearing is encouraged. Food donations are requested and will be donated to the Bellingham Food Bank.
