Flag football: Bellingham at Sehome
4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22 at Sehome High School
Last week was the first game of the inaugural season for the four girls flag football teams in the Northwest Conference. Although the weather is cold and possibly wet, flag football is worth watching. Each school has about 20 players with great athleticism and pure enjoyment while playing the new sport.
WWU women’s basketball vs. Saint Martin’s
7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 at Carver Gymnasium
Despite being plagued with injuries, the Western Washington University women’s basketball team is only a game behind second place in the conference standings. The Vikings have won six of their last 10 games and will have a matchup against Saint Martin’s, a team that is one spot below in the conference standings. Western has seen a few players return from injury and looks like an exciting team before the postseason arrives.
