Nick Smith
Fredonia resident Nick Smith will read from and sign copies of his latest book, “Cloudwalking,” at The Next Chapter Bookstore, 12 Park Place in downtown Fredonia, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 26.
Smith is an author, movie director, producer and actor. He teaches filmmaking at SUNY Fredonia and Jamestown Community College.
A film he co-wrote and co-produced, “The Abode,” debuted at the Dunkirk Movieplex in April.
“Cloudwalking” is described as “a captivating journey through a dreamlike realm where words dance and emotions soar.”
A lifelong poet, Smith has also written novels, non-fiction, anthologies and graphic novels. His books include “Cat City,” “American Spirit,” “The Secret Life of Teddy Bears,” and “Milk Treading,” which has been featured on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” translated into Italian, adapted into an Edinburgh Fringe Festival play, and lauded by the New York Times, Tod Goldberg, Jilly Cooper and David Letterman.
The Next Chapter Bookstore sells gently used books. Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County (LVCC) provides free tutoring to adults looking to learn to read and speak English, basic math and preparing for the GED test. 100% of the bookstore proceeds benefit LVCC programs.
