Size-Replicating Try-On Technologies

Must read

Google Shopping has expanded its generative AI-enabled virtual try-on feature to include dresses in the U.S. This update aligns with the New York Fashion Week kickoff, marking a significant moment for integrating technology and fashion. In collaboration with the ready-to-wear label Simkhai, select dresses will be available for virtual try-on and pre-order immediately following the brand’s runway show on September 7.

The AI-driven virtual try-on feature utilizes Google’s advanced generative AI model to manipulate images of clothing, allowing consumers to see how items will look on a wide range of body types. The feature aims to be inclusive by mimicking sizes from XXS-XXXL on accurate models.

“Virtual try-on images on Search receive 60% more high-quality views, and on average, people try on clothes using four models per product,” Google said in a press release. “Shoppers are also more likely to visit a brand’s site after viewing virtual try-on images.”
