Shooting at shopping center leaves one man dead and one wounded, suspects at large

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after being shot at a shopping center on the North Side.

Around 7:20 p.m. on Monday, police responded to a reported shooting at a shopping center near the corner of West Hildebrand Avenue and I-10.

When police arrived, they found one victim, a 25-year-old man, with gunshot wounds, and quickly transported him to the hospital.

However, despite the best efforts of first responders, the victim was declared deceased.

A second victim, who originally claimed to not be involved, was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Police say one to three people fled the scene of the shooting on foot. They say the shooting began inside of a phone repair shop in the building.

It is unknown who those people are, or if they may be suspects in the shooting. Police have identified, and are interviewing, one person of interest.
