San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System committed a total of $120 million to private infrastructure funds, according to its 12 September board meeting documents.
The San Diego-based public pension fund committed $60 million to Brookfield Super-Core Infrastructure Partners Fund. This fund is managed by Brookfield Asset Management and has currently raised $10 billion.
SDCERS committed another $60 million to KKR Diversified Core Infrastructure Fund. This fund is managed by KKR and has a current size of $9.8 billion. This fund will invest in core infrastructure opportunities in data centres, digital infrastructure, social infrastructure, energy, transport, utilities and renewables.
San Diego City Employees’ Retirement System allocated 2.8 percent of its investment portfolio into private infrastructure, with a target allocation of 3 percent. The private infrastructure portfolio currently amounts to $316.4 million.
