Sandy Twp. Receives Grant for Industrial Drive Infrastructure Plans

Must read

DUBOIS – Sandy Township will receive over $700,000 in grant funding for its Industrial Drive infrastructure plans.

During Monday night’s board of supervisors’ meeting, the board, along with Township/City Manager Shawn Arbaugh, thanked Pennsylvania State Senator Wayne Langerholc Jr., 35th District, and State Rep. Mike Armanini, 75th District, for making the grant possible.

The supervisors also voted to accept Bucktail Excavators, as the lowest bidder, for aggregate this year.  It is $26.22 per ton for 1,200 tons of AASHTO #8 and  around $20 per ton for 1,000 ton of 2A aggregate.

Arbaugh reported that PennDOT has plans to meet with the township, as it explores the potential of having a road and other infrastructure run behind Doolittle’s to a property owned by the City of DuBois.

This, he said, would open up economic opportunities that are already being explored by potential investors. Arbaugh, however, was unable to provide any further details.

Due to office organizational issues, the township’s municipal meeting room will not be usable for meetings. Starting Nov. 18, its public meetings will be held at the Oklahoma Fire Hall.
