Sandie Johnson, a devoted wife, Mom, and cherished “Grammy,” passed away on Sept. 21, 2024 at the age of 68. Born on April 16, 1956, she spent her last 47 years with the love of her life, her husband, Mike. She dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a nurse in her community for over 30 years. Her commitment to helping those in need extended beyond her career, as she was also an active and beloved member of her church and was known for her unwavering support during others’ times of grief.
She died secure in the firm belief that she would be well received in heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She found her greatest joy in being a ‘Grammy,’ where her love and warmth radiated in every moment spent with her grandchildren. Her love for her family was matched by her affection for her faithful pup, Piper, who was always by her side.
A woman of many talents, she was an avid quilter, creating beautiful works that will be cherished by many, her christmas cookies were the highlight of the season, and she had a knack for giving gifts that made people feel genuinely special. She found peace in visiting the beach and joy in trips to Amish country. Time spent with friends and family brought her happiness, and her home was always filled with laughter, love and often the music of her favorite oldies tunes. She truly was the heart of the home.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love, kindness and dedication will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Beides her loving husband she is survived by a son Eric (Sara) Johnson and a daughter Jil (Adrienne) Johnson and 2 grandchildren Ophelia and Layne. Also surviving is a brother Robert Dupree and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Frank and Blanche (Dupree) York, a sister Carole Roberts and 2 brothers George Dupree and David York.
