SAN ANTONIO – City of San Antonio leaders talked on Tuesday about how they’d like to see the city grow.
Mayor Ron Nirenberg sat down for a fireside chat on what’s next for San Antonio.
During the November election, voters approved several local propositions, including increasing pay for city councilmembers, longer terms and changes to the city manager’s position.
Officials say this could have a huge impact on projects and how the city moves forward.
“Existing businesses here, making sure they have they resources, the workforce, the talent, the education that they need to thrive in San Antonio,” said Brett Finley, president, North San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. “Prospective businesses that are looking to relocate to the San Antonio region, we’re trying to make sure that we’re here to support them, educate them about all the wonderful offerings San Antonio has for them in the future”
There are still major questions about how the city will pay for things like Project Marvel. Officials say taxpayers won’t have to pay for the new arena, but they will put up a bond for a vote that will provide funding for infrastructure.
