Must read

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 winter event has finally arrived and saw the brand unveil a new slate of slab phones. Earlier today, Samsung announced a handful of exciting new iterations of its flagship Galaxy S series lineup, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, in San Jose, California. In addition to debuting the new S series lineup, the tech brand leaned hard into AI—its various devices will offer more AI features than their predecessors, the Galaxy S24 series.

If you’re planning to order a new Samsung device this year, take a look at all the new devices announced below. Best of all: You can pre-order them right now, with shipping beginning February 7. Here’s everything Samsung announced at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025.

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 Launches, At A Glance:

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: The new flagship device adds a new 50MP ultrawide camera. Under the hood, Samsung introduces the so-called Virtual Aperture to help you take the perfect picture. An audio enhancer called Audio Eraser can now help fine-tune your video’s audio now, to.

Samsung Galaxy S25+: The device mostly remains the same with slight dimension changes and a reduction in weight. At a more affordable price point of $1,000, the device has Android 15 and the same One UI 7 that round out the software upgrades for a faster, more secure device.

Samsung Galaxy S25: Like the rest of the S Series, the S25 features some weight reductions and minimal design changes. Samsung increases the RAM from 8GB in the S24 to 12GB in the S25, bringing it in line with the rest of the S series. Samsung also adds a Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 for Galaxy for faster processing.

One UI 7: Samsung’s software includes new security protections with Knox Vault. It also introduces the Personal Data Engine and adds a Now Bar and Now Brief, AI summaries to help you streamline your workflow and get at-a-glance information faster and tailored to your needs and interests.

Samsung’s latest flagship phone, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, looks smoother than its predecessor. Last year’s Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra was boxy by design; this year, Samsung introduced a curved look that retains the S24’s 77.6 x 162.8 x 8.2mm design and shaves off 15 grams for a lighter carry. The titanium build slims the bezels and increases the display by 0.1 inch, as well, for a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a fast 120Hz refresh rate.

One of biggest changes this year comes to the camera set. Samsung introduced a brand new 50MP ultrawide camera lens—up from 12MP—to improve details and image quality for both large-scale and zoom shots. You still get the same 50MP telephoto and 50MP wide lens for your camera needs. You also get the same 3x and 5x optical zoom along with the 100x Space Zoom. Under the hood, Samsung introduced the so-called Virtual Aperture to help you take the perfect picture. Samsung kept its video modes from last year, namely 4K at 120fps and 8K at 30fps, but put important upgrades in the software. Samsung added the ProVisual Engine that uses ProScaler (originally a feature on Samsung TVs) for capturing the higher quality detail—the best video quality to date on a Samsung device. Audio didn’t get left behind this year, either; you can now fine-tune your video’s audio, whether that’s reducing background noise or removing excess wind, thanks to the new Audio Eraser software.

Battery life remains the same at 5,000mAh, and it comes with Qi2 charging capability. Plan to pick up a compatible case to take advantage of this wireless fast charging, as it doesn’t work without this accessory. It’s also important to note that Samsung removed the battery from the S Pen this year, so it’s a passive stylus now. The device also comes with an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating to protect from accidental spills.

Galaxy AI Comes Front And Center–Again

It’s not just about the hardware this year—Samsung again heavily leaned into expanding Galaxy AI. This year, the S25 Ultra runs on Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7, both of which promise speedier responses and more security protection. The device also features the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 8 Elite for Galaxy processor which delivers up to 40% faster processing for the NPU and 37% faster processing for the CPU. Like before, it also packs 12GB RAM. These numbers are important for the device’s newest unveilings: the Now Bar and Now Brief, powered by an AI agent Samsung calls its Personal Data Engine.

In short, the Now Bar is similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island: You can get a customized, helping of information at a glance. If you’re watching a sports game, you can see the score in real time, including automatically pulling top news stories based on your user history and interests. The same goes for Now Brief, which is a morning “briefing” that surfaces top stories, weather and more at a glance in one spot on your device. As always, the more you use it, the more it leans into your interests and helps you maximize your mobile device experience.

But it’s not just about information on your device. This same AI agent software powered by the Personal Data Engine syncs your Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra across all your smart home devices and wearables to create a seamless AI experience. Connect it to other Samsung or Bixby-compatible devices, and it can provide you with suggestions based on your habits and interests. As an example, connect the phone to your Samsung Galaxy Watch and your smart thermostat. From there, the AI may recognize that you sleep best when your bedroom is 68 degrees, and it can suggest this automatic change once it learns this pattern. By far, this is the most exciting feature on the Samsung devices, and it comes to the entire new S series lineup.

You can pre-order the new Samsung device right now in any of four colors: Titan Black, Titan Gray, Titan Silverblue, and Titan Whitesilver. If you prefer Titanium Pinkgold, Titanium Jetblack or Titanium Jadegreen, those shades will be exclusively available on the Samsung website. Prices start at $1,300 with 256GB, 512GB and 1 TB options, and shipping begins February 7.

A solid balance of price and performance, the new Samsung Galaxy S25+ features a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 display with Armor Aluminum frame—the same sturdy build as its predecessor. Where it differs is in its dimensions: The new device shaves off a couple tenths of an inch both in height and depth, measuring 75.8 x 158.4 x 7.3mm. Like the S25 Ultra, it also reduces its weight, down to 190 grams from 196 grams.

The new S25+ also packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 for Galaxy to increase the NPU and CPU speeds without affecting battery life. Again, not much has changed on this device in terms of its hardware, as it keeps the 4,900mAh battery under the hood, and the Qi2 charging requires a compatible third-party case. Even the camera set is the same: It has a 50MP main camera with 12MP ultrawide and 10MP telephoto lenses. It includes the same Audio Eraser for Videos and ProScaler for QHD+. Additionally, you can expect an improved cooling system and vapor chamber for gamers.

What’s different—and what makes the S25+ enticing—is that like the S25 Ultra, it also features the new Now Bar and Now Briefs and the same Personal Data Engine AI software to help improve your daily routine and workflows. At a more affordable price point of $1,000, the device has Android 15 and the same One UI 7 that round out the software upgrades for a faster, more secure device. And, like the rest of the S25 series devices on this list, you can expect seven years of software and security updates.

You can choose from two storage sizes, 256GB and 512GB, and RAM stays the same–12GB. The Samsung Galaxy S25+ comes in four colors at launch: Icyblue, Navy, Mint and Silver Shadow. Samsung.com exclusive colors include Blueblack, Coralred and Pinkgold.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 may be the most “no-frills” device announced at Samsung Unpacked today, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth considering—it comes just as jam-packed as the rest of the lineup with new features and software that make it a worthy addition to the S series family. The S25 slims down just a hair to 70.5 x 146.9 x 7.2 but again, thinner bezels means it keeps its 6.2-inch, FHD Dynamic AMOLED 2X Display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. It reduces its weight from 167 grams to 162 grams, too.

One big change this year? Samsung increased the RAM from 8GB in the S24 to 12GB in the S25, bringing it in line with the rest of the S series. Samsung also opted to put in a Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 for Galaxy under the hood for a more powerful device.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 keeps the same camera lens set, including the 50MP wide, 12MP ultrawide and 10MP 3x telephoto lens. Additionally, the cameras still record 4K video at 60fps and 8K at 30fps. The difference is that while it doesn’t offer the ProScaler for QHD+, it does pack the Audio Eraser for Video so you can still adjust your video’s audio in a moment’s notice.

Like the other devices that debuted today, Android 15 and One UI 7 are two main upgrades to this device. Combined with the processor and upgraded RAM, the S25 also runs Now Bar and Now Brief so you can enjoy a more seamless AI experience both on the mobile device and on your devices connected to the Samsung ecosystem.

The Galaxy S25 comes with two storage sizes, 128GB and 256GB, and launches starting at $800. You can pre-order one of four new colors right now: Icyblue, Navy, Mint and Silver Shadow. For those that want Blueblack, Coralred and Pinkgold, you’re in luck: You can get the S25 in those colors exclusively at the Samsung website.
