Dell Technologies, an American IT solution provider, says robust and reliable IT infrastructure is crucial to driving customer innovation and business growth, especially in the era of artificial intelligence.

Speaking at the Innovate with Data Summit in Lagos recently, Senior Sales Manager for Storage Platforms and Solutions, Dell Technologies, Tosin Amusa, highlighted the evolving nature of workloads and the need for IT infrastructure to adapt and support diverse environments.

“Any infrastructure or solution that fails to promote business ideas is useless,” Amusa said. “High-performance infrastructure that can consolidate workloads, regardless of their capabilities, is essential for supporting business growth now and in the future.”

He cited Powerflex, a solution built on IT operations, as an example of infrastructure that could support the dynamic needs of organisations.

“Powerful and reliable infrastructure is essential for driving customer innovation.

“Powerflex is designed to support the evolving workloads of today and tomorrow, providing a high-performance and consolidated infrastructure for businesses to thrive,” Amusa said.

According to a survey, 75 per cent of venture capital investment decisions are predicted to be driven by AI and analytics by 2025, while  90 per cent of new enterprise apps will embed artificial intelligence by 2025.

Dell believed that real opportunity comes when companies leverage data using enterprise-ready and AI-driven infrastructures.

“Data is the driving force behind innovation, however, organisations need to find the right solutions and approaches that will work with their data and not against it.

“We enable customers to accelerate innovation by offering a strong AI-ready portfolio of solutions. By bringing Generative AI to your organisation, our customers can now discover how to harness their data, insights and infrastructure to deliver next-gen transformation,” the American firm noted.

The Regional Manager of Central West Africa, Dell Technologies, Abdelmouhssin Sarsri, emphasised the importance of innovation for organisational success in Africa, during a keynote address at the summit.

“Innovation is crucial, and generative AI can transform businesses. It’s the cornerstone of our strategy, and we’re already reaping its benefits,” Sarsri said.

However, Sarsri acknowledged that some organisations were struggling to keep up with the pace of disruption, questioning how to balance innovation with day-to-day operations and drive innovation while augmenting scale.

He highlighted the importance of data as a differentiator, emphasising the need for organisations to harness their data securely and easily to deliver an extraordinary customer experience.

“At Dell Technologies, we believe innovation is the engine of transformation that moves your organisation forward. It starts with people and their ideas, fuelled by data. We will work with you to identify how to secure and responsibly modernize your technology to achieve your innovation goals,” Sarsri said.

That approach, he explained, was not about replacing existing technology but improving operational efficiencies, leading to increased productivity and benefits for organisations.
