Must read

Transportation officials announced Friday RHL Boulevard has reopened in time for the holiday shopping season.

The connector between Jefferson Road and the Trace Fork shopping center in South Charleston is part of ongoing efforts to reduce traffic congestion in the area, according to a news release from the Department of Transportation.

The news release said a traffic light has been installed to allow left turns and signage is in place to alert drivers of the new signals.

Transportation officials noted the widening of Jefferson Road and expedition of traffic through the Oakwood Road interchange of Corridor G – along with implementing U-Turns – has significantly reduced backups.

Contractors also plan to widen Jefferson Road to five lanes between Corridor G and U.S. 60.
