Rev. Reuben C. Waddell Jr., 92, of Westfield, NY formerly of Ripley, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Greenfield Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Erie, Pa.

He was born on February 3, 1932 in Gettysburg, Pa the son of the late Reuben C. Sr. and Mildred (neeCarey) Waddell. He attended local schools there and graduated from Gettysburg High School with the“Class of 1950”. He attended Life Bible College in L.A., Ca. and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology Degree and was ordained a minister of The Foursquare Gospel Church in 1954. He was appointed assistant pastor to Foursquare Gospel Church in Gardiner, Me under Rev. Robert A. Hils. Reuben married the love of his life Luella M. Noble of Ripley, NY in 1956 and together they started the Foursquare Gospel Church in Skowhegan, Me. In 1961, they were appointed to the Foursquare Gospel Church in Galion, OH and in 1971 they were appointed pastors to the Foursquare Gospel Church inRipley, NY. He retired from that ministry in 1984. He also worked at Welch Foods from 1971 to 1994 when he retired from there.

Surviving are three daughters, Cindy (Jack) Pierce of Ripley, NY, Cheryl (Denny) Steele of Lebanon, TN and Connie Waddell of El Reno, OK; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; a sister, Joan (late Tony) Jago of Hanover, Pa; also survived by many nieces andnephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years Luella Waddell (2009), a sister Evelyn Keithand three brothers, Paul , Roy and Harold Waddell.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2024 at the Quincy Cemetery in Ripley, NY at 1PM with Pastor Troy Keith officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St. Westfield, NY.
